CSCC's Freshmen Orientation Camp 08/09,
CHTHONIAN ESPADA IS OFFICIALLY OVER!

Freshmen Orientation Camp this year was largely a success, because of the enormous amount of effort put in by the OCs and helpers, who came down nearly everyday and worked from morning to night on the little details for the props needed for the enrollment room or the paperwork needed for the approval from SAC.
It was tiring but we made it through!
:)
Day 1
28th of March marks the first day of camp, and campers started pouring into FC5 foyer as early as 8.50a.m! And one by one they started to settle down with their belongings with the help of the GLs. The icebreaker games were played along the way, games like concentration, the good morning game, big fish small fish, chop chili chop and chicken pluck hair.
They were then separated into groups(Pollux, Epsilon, Cancri, Librae, Spica and Antares), going to various stations to collect various equipments to form their flags while painting them with a twist of musical chair in it. After that was lunch, before a short journey to Camp Christine, where they played station games with their groups to test their competency in teamwork and cooperative skills. Flags were stolen, and the teams were taught a lesson on how precious their belongings were to them.
Dinner was a hearty meal after the tiring day, but they didn't know what were in store for them yet, as the GPs went on to prepare their various stations and the GLs entertained them with the camp songs they knew. Blind Man Trail was arguably one of the most memorable experience the campers went through, with the previous year experience still stuck behind my back. Playing the animal game and going through the various stations, it indefinitely gave them a common topic to chat over the days.
Day 2
Breakfast started with a bad note, with a single flag being stolen during sleeping hours, and 3 more being stolen during meal time. The teams were to do forfeits to get back their flag, one of which was to pass a bread heavily topped up with kaya and butter with only their mouths, while some other creative groups imitated advertisements seen on the tv much to the amusement of the GPs and campers. After breakfast were some light hearted versus games like the human battleships, arcade football in which groups compete against each other to emerge an eventual winner. Teams lost, but the cheers kept them going on, and in the end the groups emerged even stronger than before to compete with the others.
Played matrix puzzle after lunch and all the teams scrambled to retrieve their puzzles before forming up their team names with it. Left for school afterwards and had a screening of horror movies before the campers were sent off for their nightwalk.
Day 3

Epsilon

Librae

Cancri

Spica

Pollux

Antares
Morning started off with the amazing race, with the groups sent off to various parts of the cmapus, like the mini treasure hunt off Moberly, having a short break for lunch before continuing. Water games after the Amazing race, played some water polo games everyone got wet! But it was undeniably fun, seeing the smiles and laughter some of the groups had after the games. Dinner was a busy affair, groups had to auction the food they want to eat with the points they earned over the past days. And with the food cleverly concealed as pizzas and junk food, its no wonder why they took so long to make the decision on which to auction for and which not to.
The entire camp was brought to the peak with the campfire, overwhelmed by loud cheers as well as campfire songs lead by the GLs and GPs. But the best is yet to be, with the Shim Night coming up after the campfire, all the campers roared into laughter as their friends were made into transvestites by their group's representatives. Performing various embarrassing acts on their "victims" of unsuspecting GPs and GLs.
The night were brought to an end with the disco night at Dance@mob where they partied till the wee hours in the morning before resting for the night.
Day 4
The final rehearsal was done outside FC5, with the various groups trying out the props they wish to incoporate into their skits before heading out to SAC for their performance, and it didn't fail to dissapoint. The highlight was that of the GLs, who put up a hilarious performance to please the crowd. It ended with the GPs singing "SHI TOU REN" & "These Are The Days". The GLs then said their parting words to their "children" of 4 days and 3 nights bringing the camp to a closure.
WELL DONE CSCC!
ROCK ON :)
